Sam Bass Theatre Youth Guild Acting Workshop

Join us for an acting workshop this fall!  Students will join the Youth Guild and produce their own one act play from auditions to performance.  Students will study character development, stage directions, blocking, acting techniques and character objectives.!  All students will be given the chance to show their skills in a final performance! 

 

September 14-October 26:  Saturdays 1 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

 

Performances October 26 at 6:00 and 7:00 p.m.

Students will be called at least an hour before the first show.

Ages 8-17

 

Workshop Cost: $175

All students receive 2 comp tickets

Tickets $5

 

Students should bring a Peanut-free snack and a water bottle each week. 

Tuition includes Youth Guild Membership for the 2019-2020 Season!

There will be a short parent meeting at the beginning of the first class.  Auditions will be held after a read through of the script during the first class. Tuition must be paid before attending the first class and will not be refunded if a student chooses not to participate after parts have been assigned. Workshop will be cancelled and money refunded if enrollment minimum is not met before class begins.

Scholarship

Paul and Addy Prior Memorial Scholarship Fund

 

SBCT will award at least one $500.00 college scholarship each year to a deserving SBCT Youth Guild member if there are any applicants. Details of qualifications and awards are stipulated on the application form and the ‘Judge’s Instruction’ form. Money awarded will be deposited with the appropriate school entity and must be used within one year of the award. If not used during this time, the money will be returned to the scholarship fund. In the event that there is no SBCT applicant, the award will be opened up to qualifying RRISD seniors.

 

The Artistic Director of Youth and Education is charged with raising money for this fund and will recommend three persons to judge the applications for board approval. In the event of a conflict of interest, the President shall appoint another board member to serve as a replacement.
