22-23 Director's Submissions!  

The Submission Process:

  • Director’s submissions will be due by end of day 6/20/22. No late submissions will be accepted. 

  • A committee will review all submissions and read all plays, if you have never directed with us before the committee will also interview you the week of 6/27/22 via zoom. We will reach out to set these up as needed. 

  • Once the committee has conducted all interviews and reviewed all submissions they will vote on the shows they feel should be included into the season by 7/8/22. 

  • The season will then have to be approved by the board and if approved, directors should hear back about their submissions by 7/17/22

Director Requirements

Potential Directors must meet one or more of the following eligibility requirements:

  • Directed a production at Sam Bass Theatre or another venue in the last 5 years 

  • Fulfilled ALL of the following roles in productions for SBTA or another venue in the last 5 years: Actor, Tech (booth/running crew), Production Management (Assistant Director/Stage Manager).

  • If all experience is with another venue we will require two references and an interview 

  • All directors will be subject to the theaters current COVID-19 policy (updated monthly) which may include but is not limited to social distancing, masking actors/audience, smaller audience size, smaller cast size.
