WHY CAN'T I LOG IN, OR WHY WON'T THESE MENUS WORK?
 
The Reason - You've probably upgrade to IE6 sometime recently.
 
The Explanation - to make the administration section of the website faster (e.g.. only viewing ONE show at a time instead of ALL shows ALL the time) I re-wrote some pages using "cookies".  This allows the website to remember your choice as to what you want to see for each page it shows you. HOWEVER, because our web address is www.sambasstheatre.com but our pages live on www.davebutts.com , these cookies are called "3rd-Party Cookies".
 
Now, IE5 (Internet Explorer 5.x) was perfectly happy with 3rd-party cookies, but when Microsoft released IE6, by default, they blocked 3rd-party cookies for no apparent good reason.  So in order to use the Administration section of the website using IE6, you need to do the following:
 
The Fix:
To use the admin pages with IE6, you need to re-enable third party cookies as follows ....
  1. Bring up internet explorer, and on the "Tools" menu select "Internet Options"
  2. On the dialogue that pops up, click the "Privacy" tab
  3. Then click the "Advanced" button.
  4. On the next dialog that pops up, check the "Override automatic cookie handling" checkbox
  5. Make sure the "Third Party Cookies" option is set to "Accept".
  6. Click "OK" to close the two dialogues
  7. Reload the admin page and everything should work fine.
